  • 1-1/2 cup butter/ margarine or spread ( if using spread,use one that has more than 65 % vegetable oil.) , softened

  • 1-1/2 cups white sugar

  • 1-1/2 cups packed brown sugar

  • 3 eggs

  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract( enhance the flavour, on your preference)

  • 4-1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1-1/2 teaspoons baking soda

  • 1 tablespoon hot water

  • 3/4 teaspoon salt

  • 3 cups semisweet chocolate chips

  • 2 cups and 3 tablespoonschopped walnuts / peanuts ( on your preference)

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. 2. Cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one by one, then stir in the vanilla extract when almost finished.
  3. 3. Stir in flour first, next add in chocolate chips, and nuts. Drop by large spoonfuls onto ungreased pans.
  4. 4. Bake for about 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until edges are nicely browned.( test by toothpick to check if its cooked)

 

I made two mistakes when preparing the chocolate chip cookies this time, so hope these reminders would be helpful for you guys :)

 

Reminders:

1. Check when its around 8 mins, sometimes when the size of the cookies is not that big, they tend to be ready sooner than it said. I was worried that they are not cooked, so I leave it longer in the oven and you can see some of the cookies are black at the side :( 

2. When its almost ready ( the colour is golden brown and the chocolate flavour smells so good), you can turn off the oven and leave it inside for another 3-4 mins, otherwise the cookies will be overcooked and too crispy.  :(
